Senior Citizens Fellowship
Welcome!
The Senior Citizens Fellowship (SCF) has its beginnings in the early nineties, when a senior member of our Chetpet prayer group, (late) Dr. M. S. Samuel, would bring together some of his friends and senior citizens of our church, other churches, and religions for sharing the Word of God and enjoy the fellowship. It was referred to as the Elders Fellowship. Over the years, the meetings moved to the MTC, Chetpet.
The fellowship is now called the SCF with effect from June 2023, in accordance with the Kalpana of Metropolitan, and is now an organization of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church with an elected body of representatives at the Parish, the Centre, Chennai Bangalore Diocese and Sabha levels.
Presently there are 40 members. The fellowship meetings are held on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 4.30pm at the church premises. Our Achens and speakers from various fields have been talking to us consistently about being rooted in the Word of God, maintaining a positive attitude to life and healthy relationships.
The SCF is the beneficiary of an Endowment from (late) Dr. M. S. Samuel and Mrs. Irene Jose We regularly donate to the church for a cause as required.
The SCF members have a WhatsApp group to share relevant information.
Join us every 4th Saturday at 8:30AM for a time of Holy Communion Service
