Welcome!
The Madras Mar Thoma Church Choir, comprising of approximately 60 members of all ages, holds a special place in the heart of the church and its congregation. With a rich history dating back to the establishment of the church itself, the choir's journey is a testament to their gifted voices and unwavering commitment to their faith. The choir has evolved over the years, incorporating a diverse range of musical styles and genres while staying true to its Christian as well as Mar Thoma traditions
This talented choir, through their heart touching renditions, enhances the worship experience for the congregation, infusing each service with a sense of spiritual devotion.
Many of the choir members are not just individuals but entire families from the congregation, reflecting a tradition of faith and music passed down through generations. This familial presence adds an extra layer of unity and continuity to their performances, making their offerings even more special.
During the Christmas season, the carols rendered by the Choir take centre stage; the choir performances of a combination of traditional and contemporary carols add a special and spiritually uplifting dimension to the church's celebrations. The beautiful carols sung by the choir help convey the message of love, joy, and the birth of Jesus Christ, enhancing the festive atmosphere and fostering a sense of community and togetherness among the congregation.
Throughout the year, the Madras Mar Thoma Church Choir is regularly invited to participate in various programs and competitions. They regularly grace the services of the CSI Vepery Church, further strengthening the bond between these two communities. Additionally, the choir showcases their exceptional talent in various Sangeetha Dhara competitions, Christmas events at Union Christian Association and various other prominent churches & Institutions such as Emmanuel Methodist Church, St.Andrews (The Kirk) Church, Stella Marris College and others.
