Suvishesha Sevika Sangham

The Suvishesha Sevika Sangham, being the womens’ wing of the church, every women above the age of 18 is automatically a member; the Sangham encourages participation from every age group.
The aim of the Sevika Sangham is to equip women of the church in Christian fellowship, loyalty to the church, participate in church activities thus increasing knowledge of Christ through fellowship and love in the church and society; for this active participation in retreats, bible study, prayer meetings, neighbourhood ministry.
With the Parish Vicar as President, there is a core committee and there are also members representing each area prayer group. The Sevika Sangham members meet monthly while the core committee meetings are held when necessary to discuss important matters; there are also Centre SS meetings. A few SS members are also office bearers for diocesan and centre SS. On every fifth Sunday of a month, the Sevika Sangham conducts Divine Service at church. Other regular activities include Bible study on every Friday, involvement in choir, Sunday school and vacation bible studies.
The Sevika Sangham contributes to the activities of the parish such as SS Kalamela of the parish and of the centre, Grace John quiz competition, participation in Parish day activities, Fete and Food sales programs, retreats , parish picnics, parish sports days, neighbourhood ministry activities, support and visit to meet elderly, hospitalized or bed-ridden members and families. The Sevika Sangham also visits mission fields, neighbourhood needy areas, Asha Bhavan, Mar Thoma School Sriperumbudur.
The Sevika Sangham also contributes monetarily for collections of the parish as and when the requirement arises and also to specific needs of any member.
The Sevika Sangham interacts and keeps in touch through various modes including WhatsApp groups of SS, of Committee and of Area representatives.
The Sevika Sangham encourages those capable members as lay lady members of the church and of other churches to share the Word of God.
