Sunday School
Welcome!
The Madras Mar Thoma Church Sunday school had its humble beginnings even before the Church had its own property. The motto of the Sunday school is ‘Come to Jesus bring every child to Jesus’.
The aim of the Sunday school is to nurture children in the knowledge of the Bible and love of God and become full participants of the church.
The children are surrounded with a family of teachers who know them, teach about Jesus Christ and the free gift of salvation and pray that their hearts are being transformed. This is possible only by the grace of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ
Children aged between 4 and 17 are part of the Sunday school.
Sunday School begins every year on the first Sunday of January with the Teachers’ Dedication during the Service. The Students’ Dedication is held in the month of June. Classes are held after the First Service every Sunday, at 9.30am, with prayer, a very vibrant singing session after which the students attend their respective classes lead by a team of very dedicated teachers.
Sunday school follows the Mar Thoma Samajam and curriculum, and the students take part in its activities like Talent Parishodhana, Annual and Birudh exam.
The Vacation Bible school held every year during the first week of May is attended enthusiastically by the students of our Parish as well as from other churches.
The Sunday School children take active part in all the church activities such as the Lenten prayer where our children lead the congregation in the intercession prayers, the Christmas program in which the Play put up by the kids is a looked forward to event, the Parish Fete in which the cakes pastries and other goodies are wiped off the shelves in no time. The kids also go on a picnic to a local attraction
They also take active part in Junior camp and World Sunday School Day celebration at the Centre level.
The Sunday School children are given equal opportunity to participate in all activities, especially in leading the Sunday worship services on the third Sunday of every month; this being a unique project of this Parish.
May the Lord help us in pointing our young ones to Jesus Christ "The way, the truth and the life.”
Join us every Sunday at 9:30AM at the 3rd floor of the Parish Hall
